Get scared. It will do you good. Smoke a bit, stare blankly at some ceilings, beat your head against some walls, refuse to see some people, paint and write. Get scared some more. Allow your little mind to do nothing but function. Stay inside, go out - I don’t care what you’ll do; but stay scared as hell. You will never be able to experience everything. So, please, do poetical justice to your soul and simply experience yourself.

Africa has been heavily photographed as an exotic paradigm, beautiful black and white photography, I didn’t want to do that. I wanted it to be like a photograph that anybody could take-even a kid. There’s nothing staged and in a way for me that was an act of honesty. I didn’t want it to feel like I have curated a view to try and convince anybody of something. Turn up, point your camera and this is what the continent looks like
